Koblenz inspires: Green oases in the focus of citizens, young people, and politics
For three months, our mobile vertical gardens transformed the courtyard of the historic town hall in Koblenz into a vibrant green oasis—a place for people to meet, relax, and find inspiration. Citizens, school groups, and a visit from Minister President Alexander Schweitzer were particular highlights and demonstrated how versatile and sustainable our urban greening systems can be – whether through cooling mist, green meeting places, or as inspiration for future projects.
Survey confirms: Green oases are a resounding success!
A survey conducted on site confirmed the high level of acceptance of our mobile gardens:
99% positive overall impression: The green design, the pleasant seating atmosphere, and the refreshing cooling provided by the high-pressure misting system were rated positively across the board.
93% want green dining areas: Almost all respondents prefer outdoor areas with misting systems—a strong signal for the acceptance of such solutions.
The feedback showed that our mobile gardens not only serve as cool places to retreat to, but also as popular meeting places in an environment where shaded areas are often lacking. Many citizens expressed a desire for more green oases like these—especially in heavily sealed areas.
Student projects: Young visions for a greener city
Young people also used the mobile gardens as a starting point for their ideas. As part of the democracy simulation game "Pimp My Future 2029," more than 35 students developed creative concepts for climate adaptation. The young people enthusiastically tested the mobile gardens and clearly advocated for their use in schoolyards as well. They also made suggestions such as more greenery and shaded areas.
Your feedback highlights the importance of green retreats and shows a clear desire to make such offerings available at additional locations in the future.
Political recognition: Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer visits
A special moment: At the beginning of September, Minister President Alexander Schweitzer and Koblenz Mayor David Langner personally convinced themselves of the innovative possibilities of our mobile gardens. During his press tour on climate adaptation in Rhineland-Palatinate, he visited the town hall courtyard and was impressed by the combination of greening, cooling, and flexibility.
Schweitzer emphasized how important such measures are for making cities sustainable and climate-friendly. His visit underscored the relevance of our solutions for the challenges posed by climate change.
The consistently positive feedback from Koblenz shows us how important green oases are for urban life. Our mobile gardens represent flexible, sustainable, and immediately implementable urban greening that can be adapted to the needs of any municipality.
