Nesting Aid for Wild Bees
Create more biodiversity and habitat for wild bees!
Almost one in ten wild bee species in Europe is threatened with extinction. Help promote our native biodiversity with a nesting aid for wild bees. Nesting aids are also ideal for educational projects, as wild bees are particularly scarce in urban areas. That's why almost all of our MobiGa systems can be equipped with a nesting aid for wild bees.
The core of our nesting aids is made by the company Wildbienenglück from specially dried and natural beech wood. Reeds from the Danube Delta are also incorporated into the nesting aid. The holes in the hardwood blocks are always drilled against the grain to prevent cracking and moisture accumulation. The holes and reed tubes have diameters ranging from 2 to 10 mm, which corresponds to the different preferred passage widths of the wild bee species that feed on the plants in the MobiGa systems. This means that shelter is not only provided for a single wild bee species. To protect the nesting aid from the weather, we have clad it with Kebony wood and impregnated the core with an insect-friendly ant-repellent paint. A stainless steel bird guard prevents the larvae from being pecked out. The rear wall can be customized with individual graphics on request. We recommend one nesting aid per MobiGa system. However, the nesting aid should not be used in conjunction with a high-pressure spray system.
