MobiGa – the research and development project has been successfully completed

Innovations and functionality of MobiGa systems

How can overheated areas in city centers be made more livable again using innovative and climate-adapted greening techniques? That was one of the key questions we addressed in this project. Together with two companies, a university, and numerous partners, we developed and scientifically tested a number of prototypes. The result: mobile vertical gardens!

From 2018 to 2021, various prototypes were developed and tested in collaboration with Bingen University of Applied Sciences. These were scientifically examined for their functionality, robustness, sound insulation, biodiversity, sustainability, and climate adaptation effect. The multi-year application tests showed that the mobile vertical gardens significantly improve the quality of life and biodiversity in inner-city areas. More than 1,400 pieces of feedback were collected from passers-by – over 95% were enthusiastic about the MobiGa systems!

The research and development project "MobiGa" ( ) was funded in accordance with the guideline "SME Innovative – Resource and Energy Efficiency" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), with a focus on energy efficiency and climate protection through innovative services and products for climate protection and adaptation to climate change. Funding code 01LY1811A-C.
